Objectives

This course intends to impart practical training in the use of English Language for Communicative purposes and aims to develop students’ personality through language Laboratory .

Topics to be covered

UNIT 1:1. Introducing oneself, family, social roles.

UNIT 2: 2. Public Speaking and oral skills with emphasis on conversational practice, extempore speech, JAM(Just a minute sessions), describing objects and situations, giving directions, debate, telephonic etiquette.

UNIT 3: 3. Reading Comprehension : Intensive reading skills, rapid reading, and reading aloud (Reading material to be selected by the teacher).

UNIT 4: 4. To write a book review. Standard text must be selected by the teacher.

UNIT 5: 5. Role plays: preparation and delivery topic to be selected by teacher/faculty.
